  • Branded footwear company Leomil has renewed its licensing agreement with Sanrio to run until 2028. Under the deal, Leomil has the rights to develop all-ages footwear collections based on the Hello Kitty and Friends IP across EMEA, Indonesia and Russia. The two companies have a long history as partners for more than 15 years.

  • It’s taken two decades, but there’s finally a new Gruffalo book from author/illustrator duo Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler in the works. Penguin imprint Dial Books for Young Readers—whose president and publisher Jennifer Klonsky acquired US and open-market rights to the title from Macmillan Publishers—will publish it in September 2026. The first two Gruffalo books have sold more than 18.2 million copies worldwide, as well as spawning successful short film adaptations from Magic Light Pictures.

  • Latcham Pictures, the banner of longtime MCU producer Jeremy Latcham (The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy), has come on board to co-produce an upcoming kids film called Zita the Spacegirl from Sycamore Studios. Latcham will executive produce the book-based pic, which represents his shingle’s first-ever animated project.
